The “Server Statistics” panel provides statistics about connections from workstations on your network. The NTS Client application used on workstations automatically searches for a time server on your network and uses the fastest available network protocol to synchronize its clock to the time server. The “Server Statistics” panel provides information about protocol status, the number of requests the date/time was received from a given server and its time.

Technical Information:

Protocol Listening port
TCP/IP 9561
UDP 9561
UDP Broadcast See below
SMB Time <server-name>\ntstime\time

UDP Broadcast:

  1. The UDP Broadcast does not listen to a port; it is used to synchronize the workstations' system clock on server demand. The NTS Server may send UDP packets to broadcast addresses thereby forcing the client application to synchronize the workstation's date/time.
  2. The UDP Broadcast uses a remote port (9560) to listen to the workstations that run the NTS Client application.
